2020

Anyone else out there feeling overwhelmed with pressure to start the new year with bold action and enthusiasm? The list of issues to address, problems to solve and goals to achieve can feel oppressive and anxiety-inducing, and we’re only days in. Perhaps the answer is in dialing back expectations and focusing on intention (for us: connection and experience in real life) and the things that make us happiest.

Here’s to more hand-made pasta dinners, comedy shows (see you in June Jim), casting flies on rivers, road trips with pals, bucatini and boquerones, correspondence with stamps, starting zinnias from seed, collaborations with artists and makers, walking and taking light rail, card table conversations & mahjong, bringing soup to neighbors, hiking under lichen-laden trees, piano bar singalongs at the Palace, chocolate chip cookies, great horned owl serenades AND participation in our democracy by standing up for social justice and equality and exercising the right to vote.
