Since the beginning, the Field Trip Society has reserved the month of August for family adventures. There is simply too much beauty and fun to be had in the Northwest to compete. Instead of scheduled field trips, we hope to see you around town on one of these fun outings. We’ll be back at it after Labor Day with a packed fall schedule, until then SOAK IT UP.

Beacon Arts concerts at Jefferson Park - Thursdays through August 19th 7 p.m., Enjoy music in the amphitheater under the setting sun. Take it to the next level by preordering a take away picnic pack from Petite Soif up the street.

Pioneer Square Art Walk August 5th 6:00 - 9:00 p.m. - First Thursdays are back! We can’t wait to see Shelli Markee’s wire sculptures at Fruit Super and the beloved Gregory Blackstock at Greg Kucera.

Moonlight Market and first Friday art walk August 6th Town Square on Bainbridge Island - support local artists and small businesses on the island, plus live music and shellfish from Baywater Shellfish.

Looking to get out of town but don't want to get on a plane? Grab a spot on Swift Adventure Co.’s Art Field Course biking tour in the San Juan Islands August 12th - 15th. Pedal the backroads of this magical wonderland while tapping in to your creativity with artist Anna Brones.

Sip and Stargaze at Oxbow Farm August 12th 8 p.m. - midnight Spread a blanket in the field and watch the night sky for the Perseid meteor shower. Latta Wines will be pouring and the Seattle Astronomical Society will be on site with telescopes, heavenly.

Equinox Studios “Very Out in the Open House” August 14th 12 - 8 p.m. art, music, fire, dance, popsicles, food trucks and more, welcome back to Equinox!

Cruise the Boulevard every weekend through Labor Day. Lake Washington Boulevard will be closed to car traffic from Mount Baker Park to Seward Park. Bring your wheels (bike, skates, scooter?) and roll!

Summer Thunder in the Garden August 22nd 1:30 - 3:30 p.m. Stroll the Kubota Garden and hear the powerful sounds of Taiko drums resounding through the paths. Three drum corps will perform on the Terrace Overlook, possibly the closest we’ll get to a rain storm this summer!

Chinatown International District food walk August 28th Wander the neighborhood while tasting culinary delights like mochi doughnuts, ube cookies, dumplings, boba tea and more. Begin your journey at the tent in Hing Hay park for menus, specials and chance to win local business gift cards.
